The Music Director will encourage and nurture the congregation’s participation in the music of worship and the expression of faith, through singing, choir leadership and instrumental accompaniment.

General Description
This contract position is for a combined organist/choir director. This
person will play for Sunday worship services on the organ or piano
according to what suits the music. The organist will also be available for
special services through the church year. As choir director, this person
will conduct and accompany the Senior Choir for weekly rehearsals and
worship. The musician works as part of a staff team, coordinating with
the minister and chairperson or designate from the Worship and Music
Ministry. It is expected that these responsibilities will be fulfilled in a
manner that embodies the mission of Knox United Church as stated
above.

Parkwoods United Church, located in North York Toronto, is looking for a summer relief pianist for its 10:30 AM services from Sunday July 28 to Sept. 1. Service music consists of congregational hymns from Voices United and More Voices, and Prelude/Postlude. Services are held downstairs in our air conditioned hall. Remuneration is $200 per service. Knox Presbyterian Church, Oshawa, is a healthy community of faith and a Leading with Care congregation. The Church has an Allen digital computer organ with three manual keyboards, a grand piano and upright piano in the sanctuary. There are three other upright pianos in the building and a two octave English Brass Bells.
