Erindale United Church, Mississauga, ON, seeks Director of Music

Erindale United Church is seeking an engaging Director of Music whose principal function is to lead the church’s Ministry of Music.

Our new Director should bring to the position the energy, enthusiasm and graciousness to accept us where we are musically and inspire us to expand and enhance our musical skills and talents.

The successful candidate will work approximately 15 hours each week. Working collaboratively with the Minister and supported by the Worship Committee, the Director will offer selections – hymnal, traditional and contemporary – which support the liturgy, affirm the Word and celebrate God’s gift of a diverse and inclusive congregation. We believe that music, and singing in particular, is one medium through which we establish and nurture our relationship with God and each other. We would appreciate timely opportunities to engage in general congregational hymn singing, to learn new compositions and enjoy old favourites. Expertise in piano and the Allen Bravura organ as well as the use of technology in worship are desirable assets.

We have a clear vision of community outreach and need someone who will use music and other performing art forms to broaden relationships and share our faith and resources with the wider Erindale community.

To support your candidacy, bring along your optimism and a large dose of contagious humour. Our congregation, including our 15 voice SATB senior choir and 5-plus member worship band, all volunteers, prayerfully look forward to wonderful possibilities under your leadership.

Our church is located in Mississauga, Ontario, about 30 kilometers from downtown Toronto and is in close proximity to many schools, University of Toronto–Mississauga campus, golf courses, shopping malls and hospitals.
