St. Paul’s United Church, Scarborough, ON seeks a creative, enthusiastic music director effective immediately. The ideal candidate will develop and challenge our talented 16-member SATB choir and build excellence in our music program to support worship and our presence in the community. St. Paul’s enjoys a broad range of music in worship and our programming, including classical, traditional, and contemporary hymnody, as well as popular, world, and innovative music. We encourage the music director to introduce us to their own musical interests and help us explore new expressions in ‘making a joyful noise to the Lord!’
Duties average 10 hours per week, with choir rehearsals on Thursday evenings and Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. St. Paul’s has a two-manual Rodgers Organ (model 920) and a Yamaha 6’ grand piano in the sanctuary, and pianos/keyboards in most other rooms. St. Paul’s also enjoys music leadership from a volunteer praise band, and a resident professional (retired) percussionist.
