Grace United Church, Tavistock Ontario is seeking a Musician and Choir Director who will plan, lead and grow our music ministry. This candidate is expected to consult, collaborate and work alongside the minister and other committees in preparing music for worship.
Grace has a mix of longstanding members and families of all ages with an average attendance pre Covid of 95 people and a well attended Sunday School program.
Music is an important part of our service. The Music Director will ensure that there is inspiring music to welcome our members and help grow our community of faith. The Director will lead our SATB choir with weekly rehearsals and Sunday services, play at weddings and funerals, be called upon to join our Praise Band and willing to participate in musical outreach ministry initiatives.

The Then Let Us Sing Development Committee will develop the new digital hymn resource. The committee’s work will include music selection, development, education, animation, and promotion. We are looking for three new members who have skills and experience in developing and implementing promotional events for new products/resources, understand public relations and how to effectively integrate PR strategies into new marketing initiatives, knowledge of social media platforms or have experience in writing and a proven track record with receiving funding from granting agencies. The appointment will be until the completion of the project, targeted for December 2025.

United Church Publishing House is excited to announce the website launch for Then Let Us Sing! (www.thenletussing.ca), an online music portal that will make all of the United Church’s hymn resources available in one digital location and under one copyright license.
We’re also calling on submissions from hymn lyricists and composers to be considered for inclusion in the first selections of new material in Then Let Us Sing!. Guidelines for submissions can be found in the submission section of the website.

The Music Ministry at Fifth Avenue Memorial (FAM) United Church is very important to our congregation and a vital part of our identity in the community. Blending traditional and contemporary elements, our Music Ministry is supported by a 20 voice senior choir, an extensive library of anthems, a Cassavant pipe organ, a grand piano, and a host of talented musicians within the congregation.
The Director of Music Ministry is responsible for overseeing and participating in our weekly worship services and coordinating and conducting the FAM choir.
This is a part-time position (approx. 10 hours per week) from September through June, with the option to renew annually. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience following the RCCO Table of Recommended Salaries.
