We are seeking a Music Minister who is enthusiastic, flexible, and can enhance an experience of God through a variety of worship music. The main worship instruments are a Yamaha C2 grand piano and an older electric organ. Our Music Minister will be proficient on the piano and be able to direct the choirs. Experience on the organ is an asset. We have modern audio-visual capabilities and often host community events.
The Music Minister will be responsible for:
- selecting hymns, songs and responses which support and enhance worship
- encouraging new areas of worship music while understanding the importance of more traditional music
- preparing and leading a variety of choirs and working with the Worship and Music Committee
- playing the piano and/or organ to accompany congregational singing and provide service music
- growing the music ministry through encouraging all ages of people within the congregation to share their musical talents during worship.
- attending staff and committee meetings
Average of 15 hours weekly. Salary range according to published RCCO guidelines. This position is a one year term, with a possibility of renewal.
