Lynn Valley United Church is seeking pianist for two positions. The first is for a Sunday Morning Worship pianist and the second is for our community choir rehearsal pianist. LVUC is home to a beautiful Steinway B that is used regularly in worship and choir, with multiple styles of accompanying from pop, jazz, classical, hymn, and folk styles of music. LVUC is also an Affirming, inclusive, welcoming, dynamic, and diverse congregation that places a high value on music excellence.
The successful candidate(s) will have skills in improvising, score and chart reading, confidence in solo and ensemble playing, and ideally have of a Bachelor of Music or equivalent experience in piano. Sunday Worship Pianist position is for two calls (total of 5 hours), with rehearsal on a weekday (to be arranged with Music Minister) and Sunday mornings. The choir pianist has a rehearsal call (total of 3.5 hours) are Thursday evening, along with any performance dates. Position Rate is calculated based upon experience and education per the VMA and the RCCO guidelines.
