MacKay United Church is searching for a Music Director, for an interim period of time (four-month minimum, up to one year) to support the development of our evolving music program, including the choral portion of our worship service.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, flexible, highly competent, creative person who is comfortable not only with a traditional approach to church music, but also with other styles of music, and who is able to work collaboratively with others in these areas. As well, the candidate should have advanced piano/organ skills and a passion for choral music and teaching. The Church has a well-maintained, superior electronic church organ and a Yamaha C7 Grand Piano. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and training, with reference to RCCO guidelines. We are in the first stages of evolving a broader vision for music at MacKay, and the interim Music Director will be an important member of the team to build that vision.

Hours: average of 12 hours per week.
On-site availability: Thursday evening and Sunday morning choir rehearsals, as well as at Sunday and other services. Weekly meetings with the Minister, and monthly meetings with the Worship Committee.
