Join us in Brandon for Worship Matters! July 2012

Finally – a regional event for church musicians! Join us in Brandon, Manitoba, July 20-22, for a time of singing, community music, and workshops for musicians of all skill levels and experience. Fun for all! Details and registration information on the national church website, and you can download a poster to share with everyone you know. If you’re coming, arrive early and join us for the Music United AGM!

6:00 – 7:30 Worship Matters registration
7:30 – Hymn Festival (all welcome, free admission)

Saturday, July 21: “Worship Matters…Music” workshop schedule
8:30 – 9:00am Gathering, welcome, coffee
9:00 – 10:00 “Developing the Congregational Choir” (Lloyd MacLean)
10:00-10:15 stretch, coffee, water, washroom break
10:15-11:15 “Music as Pastoral Care” (Nancy Handrigan)
11:15-11:20 reset for next workshop
11:20-12:20 “Songwriting” (Paul Rumbolt)
12:20-1:50 lunch break (on your own, off-site)
1:50 – 2:50 “Drumming in Worship” (Carol Zacharias)
2:50 – 3:00 reset for next workshop
3:00 – 4:00 “The Pianist as Organist” (Fred Graham)
4:00 – 4:15 break, reset
4:15 – 5:15 “Exploring MuseScore” (Bruce Harding)
5:15 – 6:00 break
6:00 – 7:30 banquet at Green Olive restaurant
